Wild Goose

Wild Goose were formed in 2012 specifically to play the new evening session at Widecombe Fair, which is famously held every September on Dartmoor. We all enjoyed it so much we thought we'd make a regular fixture of playing together. Since then Wild Goose have gone from strength to strength and now have an eclectic repotoire of blues, folk and self penned songs, all played using acoustic instruments.

We are:
  • John Henry Lambert - Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals
  • Sara Reeve - Banjo, Mandolin and Vocals
  • Isabel Lambert - Violin, Harmonium and Vocals
  • Jane Slaughter - Percussion and Vocals
  • Rosanna Lambert - Harmonium, Cello, Bass and Concert Ukulele, Vocals
  • Africa Lambert - Cello, Harmonium, Bass and Concert Ukulele, Vocals

There are not really any good recordings of Wild Goose available as yet, but a live concert was recorded last year for SoundArt Radio and broadcast in July 2014. It was a good show, a warm summer evening on Dartmoor, a full hall (full of people avoiding the football I think, it was the world cup on TV that evening) and a great atmosphere. Skylark played a beautiful set of Applachian and Swedish tunes, Sam Richards treated us all to some of his huge collection of local folk songs sung a capella, and we wrapped up the evening with our usual mix of folk and blues. You can find some of the songs from it on my Soundcloud page, and some excerpts here:

You can find us playing on and around Dartmoor and Devon from time to time, if you'd like to join our mailing list to be notified of our gig dates when they come up, or if you'd like to book us for a performance anywhere in the UK drop me an line with your email address and we'll be in touch.
